We are seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Accountant to join our finance team based at our head office location at Wayville. This is a permanent full-time opportunity!

Working with the business partnering team you will assist with accounting and financial administrative tasks, whilst developing professional knowledge and practical skills in financial reporting, reconciliations and compliance. Your experience and capabilities in this vital role will help ensure you are contributing to improving the lives of older people.

Responsibilities will include.

  • Assistance with monthly/quarterly financial reporting
  • Assistance with preparing budgets and forecasting
  • Assistance with year-end financial accounts
  • Complete and post monthly standing journals to general ledger
  • Assist with the completion of compliance returns including the monthly BAS return and the Australian Bureau of Statistics
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations for specified accounts within the general ledger and sub-ledgers
  • Assist with the completion of petty cash reconciliations, investigate and resolve any site banking discrepancies as required
  • Assist and support the Manager Financial Operations with the maintenance of the Asset register. Provide cover as required.

 

You will have

  • Qualification in Finance/Accounting with accounting experience
  • Experience with computerised accounting systems
  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of programs including an advanced working knowledge of Excel
  • Ability to analyse and interpret financial and accounting reports report/amend discrepancies.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including demonstrated experience interacting with a wide range of people.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
