Resthaven is seeking an experienced and passionate leader to join our Residential Services team as the Active Ageing & Wellness Manager. This newly established role is a key part of Resthaven’s commitment to aged care reform and strengthened quality standards, supporting the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Residential Services, this role provides strategic and operational leadership to site-based lifestyle and allied health teams across all Resthaven residential aged care homes. You will drive the development and consistent delivery of programs that promote wellness, reablement, emotional wellbeing, cultural safety, and social connection for older people.

Your leadership will guide the transformation of lifestyle services into a modern, inclusive, and responsive model of engagement. You’ll work closely with site teams to build workforce capability, mentor staff, and support innovation in resident engagement. This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring regular site visits and collaboration across teams to ensure regulatory compliance, service excellence, and continuous improvement.

Essential requirements:

  • Current driver’s licence and capacity to work across multiple residential sites.
  • Relevant qualifications in Allied Health, Human Services, or a related field (e.g. Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Nursing).
  • Registration with AHPRA or relevant professional body according to the qualifications.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in aged care, health, or community services.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and delivering integrated service models.
  • Demonstrated competence and interpersonal skills to enable effective verbal and written communication with senior leadership, residents/clients, staff and other stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of reablement, wellness, and person-centred care principles.
  • Ability to develop policy, drive innovation, and lead continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality outcomes and ability to consult with staff regarding continuous improvement
  • Proficiency in using data and performance measures to drive quality outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal constructively with conflict, mediate and negotiate acceptable outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and apply flexibility within a changing environment and work with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to act strategically, innovate and set realistic goals and plans to continuously improve service quality
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and apply management flexibility within a changing environment
  • Ability to plan and manage projects including development of timelines, key outcomes and milestones.
  • Ability to resolve operational issues and implement solutions effectively across multiple services.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to Occupational Health, Safety and Welfare.
  • Demonstrated commitment to on-going personal professional development
