We are seeking an experienced Advance Practice Nurse Dementia/mental health aged care to join our team based at our modern head office in Wayville, SA.

 About the role

• Work with the healthcare team to develop models of care to support clients/residents
• Undertake duties within scope of practice and adopt person centred approach to ensure optimal outcomes for clients living with dementia and mental health issues
• Experience in advanced clinical role applying contemporary evidence-based approaches to improve quality of life
• Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with clients and their families
• Demonstrate commitment to complying with professional standards of practice
• Provide education and counselling to stakeholders

Essential criteria

• Registered as a General Nurse by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and who holds a current practicing certificate.
• Postgraduate qualifications in gerontology, dementia and/ or mental health.
• Demonstrated ability to work as an autonomous practitioner.
• Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation.
• Demonstrated advanced level of evidence-based nursing practice in the care and management of older people requiring support in the areas of mental health and dementia care.
• Demonstrated counselling and advanced clinical skills.
• Demonstrated flexibility, innovation and creativity which can be applied to the health setting.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement principles as applied to aged care.
• Demonstrated ability in the facilitation of change management.
• Demonstrated ability to participate/initiate and or facilitate high quality research.
• Knowledge of contemporary nursing and health care issues.
