Responsibilities will include:

  • Provision of Nurse Practitioner support and clinical leadership to nursing and care staff
  • Implementation and delivery of evidence-based practice quality care for older people
  • Proactively improve the health of our residents including research, providing clinical care, within the scope of practice
  • Consult with multidisciplinary teams including internally and externally to promote the health and wellbeing of older people.

                  

Essential requirements:

  • Registered as a General Nurse by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and who holds a current practicing certificate.
  • Endorsed as Nurse Practitioner by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as an autonomous practitioner.
  • Effective leadership skills including advanced skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation.
  • Demonstrated advanced level of evidence-based nursing practice in the care and management of older people.
  • Demonstrated advanced level of evidence-based nursing practice in the care and management of people requiring palliative care.
  • Demonstrated advanced clinical skills.
  • Demonstrated flexibility, innovation and creativity which can be applied to the health setting.
  • Application of knowledge of continuous improvement principles applied to aged care.
  • Demonstrated ability in the facilitation of change management.
  • Demonstrated ability to participate/initiate and or facilitate high quality research.
  • Knowledge of contemporary nursing and health care issues.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council (ANMC) National Competencies for the Nurse Practitioner as well as the Registered and Enrolled Nurse and Midwifes in Recommended Domains.
