Resthaven have an opportunity for a professional, community focused Podiatrist to join the team.

The role is offered on a 0.8 to full-time permanent basis. The role is working across the Western Wellness Centre at Hendon and Northern Community Services at Elizabeth. You will build on your expertise seeing clients in clinic and providing allied health services directly to clients in their home.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Practising within the standards and ethics of the Podiatry profession, as set down in the code of ethics, and by the Podiatry Board of South Australia
  • Working as a professional member of a multi-disciplinary rehabilitation team and actively participating in team meetings
  • Assessing clients with a wide range of acute and chronic disorders and implementing effective rehabilitation and/or maintenance programs by
    • Reviewing, continually assessing, and evaluating programs or treatments
    • Implementing effective discharge programs
    • Balancing competing priorities of individuals’ expectations against resource levels
    • Maintaining documentation in a professional and confidential manner and in accord with Resthaven standards
  • Effectively communicating with staff members, health professionals, clients, and family, with regards to the provision of podiatry services

Essential Criteria:

  • Current registration as a Podiatrist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
  • Driver’s Licence
  • Knowledge of the range and type of services available for older people/people with disability
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and to supervise others
  • Ability to review procedures and implement new models of service delivery to satisfy client and organisational requirements
  • Ability to monitor expenditure and implement action as required 
  • Understanding of quality accreditation systems and their application in the workplace 
  • Demonstrated skill and professional practice as a Podiatrist
  • Knowledge of infection control guidelines and sterilisation procedures for Podiatry instruments 
  • Sound computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
