We’re now seeking two Therapy Assistants to join our Community Services team at Marion, on a Full-Time basis and a Part-Time (0.8) basis. In this rewarding role, you’ll provide direct care to clients as directed by our Therapists. 

Responsibilities:

• Assist clients as directed by the Therapists, including; Accompanying on walks, Supervising and assisting with prepared meals,  Preparing clients for consultation with Therapists, One-to-one interaction which will give stimulation – physical, mental, social
• Perform regular stock control or checks of supplies
• Maintain confidentiality and privacy of client according to Resthaven guidelines
• Establish and maintain appropriate relationships with clients and their families
• Promote Resthaven’s services in the community as determined in conjunction with the Therapists 
• Give direct feedback to Therapists of relevant information relating to clients 

Essential Criteria: 

• Understanding of the ageing process and caring for older clients
• Demonstrated ability to relate to a diverse group of people including clients, other staff, and family members
• Empathy and understanding of issues for older people, their families, and carers
• Experience working in social groups or exercise groups 
• Time management skills
• Computer literacy including Microsoft Word and Excel 
• An SA Driver's License
