Data Lead

About the role

Resthaven is looking for an experienced data professional to take ownership of our enterprise data capability, built on Microsoft Azure and Databricks. You'll sit at the intersection of technical leadership and operational delivery: working hands-on with the platform while guiding a small team, shaping priorities, and driving data-driven decision-making across our organisation.

What you'll do

• Design and maintain scalable Data Lakehouse architecture end-to-end
• Oversee ETL/ELT pipelines from source SaaS systems into Databricks
• Manage user access, backup, and security in partnership with the ICT Infrastructure and Applications teams
• Deliver high-quality transformed data for BI reporting and dashboards
• Establish data governance frameworks and data quality standards
• Monitor and optimise the data environment for efficient use of resources
• Set clear priorities and manage external vendors for technical capability uplift
• Mentor team members and foster a culture of continuous improvement

What you'll bring

• Proven experience designing enterprise-scale Data Lakehouse solutions using medallion architecture
• Expert-level capability in Databricks or a comparable cloud data platform
• Strong Python and SQL skills for data engineering and analytics
• Hands-on experience with Azure, Azure Purview, Git, and Azure DevOps
• Solid understanding of Azure Active Directory (Entra), security group structures, and Microsoft M365
• Strong stakeholder engagement across IT, business, and corporate teams
• Sound communication skills and experience managing vendor relationships
• Experience mentoring team members and building a culture of continuous improvement
